Seth Navrang Rai Lohia Jairam Girls College was established in 2001 by a great visionary, philosopher and social worker Late Shri Devender Sawroop Brahmchari Ji Maharaj with the noble cause of uplifting the rural women of India, His dream was to make education available to long suppresses rural women since they don’t get equal opportunities, he along with disciple Sh. Braham Sawroop Brahamchari ji Maharaj, the present chairman of the college, laid the foundation of this college at Lohar Majra, Kurukshetra, which is in the heart of rural area and situated at the banks of Sarawati River. Gram Panchayat of Lohar Majra village and Lohia Family played a significant role in the realization of his dreams and made an immense contribution in the establishment and growth of this college.
Since its inception in 2001, the college has come a long way. It has progressed by leaps and bounds under the able guidance of our chairman Shri Braham Sawroop Brahamchari Ji Maharaj. It has completed 15 years and over this period of time 3 additional girls’ institutes have also been established in the campus which are S.K.D.L Jairam Public School, Jairam Mahila Polytechnic, Shri Jairam Mahila College of Education. S.N.R.L Jairam Girls College has a magnificent building and is ornated by green plants, majestic trees, and beautiful gardens. Affiliated to Kurukshetra University it offers undergraduate and post graduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. The management and staff of this college is highly qualified and dedicated to give quality education to girls. Apart from laying emphasis on academic excellence the college firmly believes in the overall development of an individual in the moral, physical, intellectual fields. More than 5000 girls have graduated and post graduated from this institute since its establishment. During the course of its long journey, the college has built up a good reputation and created a place for itself in society by achieving many laurels in the fields of academics, sports and cultural activities.
